About Me
I've always believed that the most fascinating stories exist at the intersection of reality and possibility.

My name is Derek Robinson, and I'm grateful that you're here.

The journey of writing my first novel began when I was in elementary school. I remember numerous attempts that fizzled out, because... well, because third-graders don't write novels. From stories about shipwrecks to sports, each one began with promise and fell by the wayside due to real life obligations.

By 2021, I decided it was time to try it for real. That's when, surrounded by a few friends at a Vermont campfire, I hatched the premise of Forever After. The story evolved over the next few years, progressing in spurts between long hiatuses. Between getting engaged and eventually married to my wonderful wife, Kathryn, and my full-time work as a technical learning content developer, the writing process saw its fair share of disruptions.

But in 2025, I finally sunk my teeth in and got my manuscript finished. It's a rewarding feeling, if you're someone who has always wanted to write a novel. There will be bumps in the road and feelings of dread. But as soon as you stop worrying about the end result, and simply let yourself fall into the process of telling your story... well, that's when the pages begin flying by.

When I'm not writing, you'll usually find me in our home north of Boston, enjoying life with Kathryn and our lovable feline, Mia. Kathryn's patience during my writing process deserves its own acknowledgement page, if we're being honest. But she's still here, encouraging me every step of the way.

Thanks for joining me. I'd love for you to subscribe to my mailing list, so that you get the updates as soon as a release date for Forever After is finalized. I'm planning to record and produce its audiobook myself, as well. I hope Brayden's story resonates with you as much as it did with me during its creation.

Until the next tale,
Derek
